Learning OUTCOMES
Beginner Level
By the end of this programme, students will be able to:
- Understand straightforward information and begin to express themselves in familiar topics
- Understand basic sentences about relevant topics: family, shopping, local geography, etc.
- Communicate regarding simple and routine tasks
- Describe his/her background, environment and immediate needs in simple terms
Intermediate Level
By the end of this programme, students will be able to:
- Express themselves in a simple and general way in familiar situations
- Understand the main points of familiar matters (e.g. school, family, leisure)
- Deal with most situations related to travelling in English speaking countries
- Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions with explanations
Advanced Level
By the end of this programme, students will be able to:
- Understand a wide range of demanding and lengthy texts
- Recognise meanings that are not straightforward
- Express themselves spontaneously and fluently
- Use language flexibly for social, academic or professional purposes.
Pre-entry Requirement
Learners must take a placement test to determine which level they should start at.
Assessment
With no pass or fail grade, the internal assessment is conducted to measure a student’s performance in relation to the programme objective and readiness to sit for the Cambridge exam.
Cambridge English Exam
Upon successful completion of this programme, students can opt to sit for the appropriate Cambridge Assessment English examination.
