B2 First – Also referred to as the First Certificate in English (FCE) or First for Schools (FCEfS), this exam assesses English proficiency at the upper-intermediate level.

Skills Assessed:
- Reading & Use of English: Multiple-choice, gap-fill, word transformation, and text-matching tasks to test grammar and vocabulary.
- Writing: One compulsory essay plus a choice of functional or creative writing (report, review, article, letter, etc.).
- Listening: Understanding spoken English in discussions, radio broadcasts, interviews, and lectures.
- Speaking: Conducted with a partner—includes interview, collaborative tasks, individual presentations, and discussions.
Outcome: This level shows learners are ready for academic study in English or professional roles requiring strong language skills.
