The third and last level of the Cambridge English Qualifications designed for young learners.
Age & Learning Time: Targeted at 9–12-year-olds, with about 120 hours of study after Movers.
Purpose: Flyers is the highest level in the YLE suite and shows that a child is becoming a more confident, independent English user.
Skills Assessed:
Listening & Reading: Understanding short spoken narratives and written stories, recognising time references, and following simple explanations.
Speaking: Using past tense, asking and answering basic questions, describing pictures or sequences of events.
Writing: Producing simple descriptions, short notes, or very short stories while linking ideas with connectors such as and, then, because.
Outcome: Flyers demonstrates readiness to progress to teenage or adult exams such as A2 Key for Schools, helping children transition smoothly into higher levels of English learning.
