School of Accounting and Finance Head Grabs Best Presenter Award at Int’l Accounting Conference

The Faculty of Business of Management has extended our fantastic tradition of winning top presenter awards at illustrious competitions once again!

This came after the Head of the School of Accounting and Finance Mr Tanaraj Krishna brought home the Best Presenter Award from the 4th International Conference for Accounting, Research and Education (iCARE) 2021.

Hosted by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perak, the conference saw more than 100 presenters from Malaysia, Indonesia, and other Southeast Asian nations taking part.

They included institutions like Universiti Malaya, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Universitas Indonesia, Paramadina University, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and Thailand’s Chiang Mai University.

Mr Tanaraj’s research presentation examined the factors that influence the stock investment decisions of young adults in Malaysia. It placed him in a select category of 10 Best Presenter Award recipients.

“Specifically, the objectives of the research were to investigate the influence of age, gender, income level and investment experience on stocks investment behaviour through the mediation of financial literacy,” he said.

“The study revealed that financial literacy mediates the relationships between the key determinants of stock investment decisions and the stock investment decision in the context of Malaysian young adults.”

Mr Tanaraj said it was a thrill to win the award amidst such distinguished competition, thanking the university and his faculty for the support.

“I would also like to express my gratitude to my excellent co-researchers, School of Accounting and Finance senior lecturer, Ms Rajespari Kumar and QIU MBA student Ms Tashrina Mann.”

Congratulations once again to all of our QIU award winners for making us proud once again!
