- Since 2019, QIU has won 47 awards at the MTEs
QIU’s sterling winning tradition at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) has continued in style, after we grabbed a terrific 13 accolades at the MTE 2021: SDG International Innovation Awards (SDGIIA).
Our students and academics won two gold, seven silver, two bronze, one merit, and one Outstanding Innovation award in total.
All 12 of our participants won an award, which continues our 100 per cent medal-winning record for the third MTE in a row. All seven of our participants won awards in April 2021, and all nine entries did the same at MTE 2020.
Added to the 18 awards we snagged at MTE 2019, QIU has won 47 awards across four editions of the MTE! How’s that for a winning streak?
Our cream of the crop came from the Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences and the Faculty of Computing and Engineering. They stood out among competition from over 206 entries from Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen— including public and private universities and government agencies.
Without further ado, here is the full winner’s list:
We couldn’t be more proud of our champions. Despite the challenge of a fully virtual competition, the sheer creativity of their inventions shone through.
They have shown once again that QIU can be the platform for talents to blossom and win on the biggest stage. This is also a reflection on our continued pursuit of research and innovations that help the world around us, as well as our unwavering commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Kudos to everyone involved in this fantastic win!
