QIU’s Diploma in Environmental Technology programme provides you with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed for success in the growing field of environmental technology. Graduates will acquire skills and techniques in environmental sampling, monitoring, data analysis and information technology tools. They will become familiar with applying the principles of ecosystem-based management for sustainability and have the ability to manage environmental projects from planning to implementation and maintenance.

QIU’s programme provides an opportunity for students to apply their skills through partnerships in the community and stresses the need for designing and implementing systems to prevent, control and clean-up environmental contaminations.

Laboratory practice in water quality testing, groundwater movement, computer-aided environmental audits and the chemistry of pollutants provides you with the skills needed to analyse and remediate the urban environment. This is to eradicate recent global phenomena such as haze, poor drinking water quality, leachate contamination, improper solid waste and wastewater disposal, and many others which have attracted public concern.

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with a minimum credit in any three (3) subjects including one (1) science subject (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Science/Applied Science/Health Sciences)
Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM)A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject
Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM)A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul
SKM Level 3Pass SKM Level 3 in the related field.

Note: The HEPs are to conduct screening and provide necessary guidance specific to the discipline of the programme.

Other QualificationsOther equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
English Proficiency for International Students5.0 in IELTS

OR

Band 3.5 in MUET OR its equivalent.
