Foundation in Arts (FIA) is a pre-university level programme that blends Social Science, Information Technology, English and Management courses to give students a solid foundation in their future studies, while at the same time broadening their exposure to other related fields. Such exposure to a wide spectrum of knowledge provides students with an integrated learning experience and an appreciation for how each of these related disciplines impact the working environment in a variety of fields.

The Foundation in Business (FIB) programme provides students with a broad understanding of business organisations and their structures. It also delves into wider considerations such as business environments, markets, processes and how they work together to contribute to organisational success. The foundation programme will allow students to analyse how strategies are developed, decisions are taken, and how these factors impact competitiveness in business and commerce.

ABOUT
The Bachelor of Mass Communication (Honours) Journalism programme has been carefully designed with inputs from industry experts and scholars to produce passionate aspiring journalists who meet market demands and stay ahead of their competitors. Students will be exposed to a variety of journalistic writing and reporting that include conducting research and investigations. They also learn to evaluate and present critical information for both market and societal needs. Key communication theories combined with a comprehensive curriculum that are student-centred make learning at QIU the best possible experience.

The Bachelor of Mass Communication (Honours) Advertising programme aims to address the demand for up-and-coming specialists by training them to excel in the advertising industry. This 3 ½ year programme provides students with a firm grounding in key theoretical
and practical concepts related to language, pedagogy and culture. Evidence-based
best practices and innovative 21st century teaching techniques are used to help
students develop the skills and competencies they require to deliver effective English
language instruction. A 16-week Practicum in a secondary school provides students
with hands-on experience in planning and delivering instruction and in organising
and managing various co-curricular events and projects. This blend of theory and
practice is designed to develop passionate and skilled professionals who possess
transferable skills that are sought after in a diverse range of professions.

ABOUT
The Bachelor of Special Needs Education (Honours) programme is designed especially for students who are interested in working with children with special needs. The programme equips its graduates with the knowledge, competencies and attitudes that will enable them to work effectively in this field. A key feature of the programme is the acquisition of skills and competencies in practical contexts. Students are provided with 640 hours of practical work experience in real world environments where they work with special needs children as well as stakeholders and providers of Special Needs Education.
