5 Last-Minute Father’s Day Gift Ideas to Make Dad Delighted

fathers-day-gift

Different year; same story. It’s June, it’s Father’s Day and SOMEHOW you’ve forgotten to buy a gift for the no.1 man in your life. Shopping isn’t an option (MCO, obviously) and you may not have enough time to buy something online.

QIU’s Life Hacks are here to help. We’ve come up with 6 fantastic, from-the-heart ways to make your Dad’s day a special one. And you can do it all from home.

Family Memories

Father’s Day celebrates the everyday sacrifices your dad goes through for his family. So it’s a good idea to make your gift family-themed.

In the old days, people used to make a scrapbook with pictures of memories that they shared with their father. They could be pictures of your family, trips, old toys or clothes he bought you, a movie poster that you saw together, or even pictures of his parents—anything that has a special meaning.

You could use those pictures to make a short video, perhaps with a background of his favourite song. Add some captions to remind him of those memories.

If you’re more creative with your hands, you could also use those pictures to make a traditional scrapbook. Here are some ideas!

Movie Night

A great way to combine the two ideas above is with a movie night. You could show the video you made and let him enjoy it with the delicious meal you cooked up.

You could also line up his favourite movies and order in his favourite food. The only downside is that you may not enjoy his movies that much—but hey, it’s his day so make him feel like a king. He’s your dad.

Cook

Food is the way to a man’s everyone’s heart. Making a savoury or sweet treat for your dad is the perfect way to show him how much he means to you. You won’t look like those pros above, but you will impress everyone else in the family and make your siblings jealous.

But wait! You say you can’t cook? No problem, because we’ve provided some easy recipes that anyone can follow. Here are two videos on how to make mug cakes:

Video Celebration

Due to the pandemic, many families are separated. But that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate online. Organise a virtual get-together for all the dads in your family—your uncles, cousins, grandfathers etc.

If you can get some help from the rest of your clan, perhaps arrange it so everyone can have some cake together or play some games online. Father’s Day is about family after all.

Father’s Day Coupons

Everyone loves a break. We bet your dad would love a year-long break from some of the chores he does around the house, like washing the car.

All you have to do is design a little set of coupons (you don’t need to print it out either) for the chores that you will help him finish. He can redeem the coupons throughout the year until next Father’s Day. By the time next year comes along, you’ll be tired so just get him a tie (we’re kidding).
